Trip to Kildrought House - 6th Class
21st May 2025
6th Class enjoyed a lovely tour of Kildrought House and Gardens on Wednesday 21st May.
The sun was shining, so they were able to enjoy the garden and have some cupcakes and pineapple juice.
They then had a tour of the inside of the house. The house is an 18th Century Merchant's House, built around 1719, by Robert Baillie, a leading tapestry manufacturer at the time. He was invited to Celbridge by William Conolly to help decorate Castletown House, and in return, William Conolly gave Baillie land on which to build a house, Kildrought House.
Thank you to June, who as usual made us feel very welcome, and she has lots of interesting stories and facts about the house down through the years.
