5th and 6th Class worked very hard in Term 1 to prepare their project "Can You Really Make Plastic from Vegetables?" After lots of trial and effort, they made some small completely biodegradable plastic products from corn, potatoes, lemons, vinegar and glycerin! They developed their ability to predict and assess outcomes, and their observation and presentation skills. Great fun was had attending the Stripe Young Scientists exhibition, explaining their project to the judges, the RTE News 2Day crew and to hundreds of other visitors to their display stand. They also had time to explore the technology exhibition and to discover the hundreds of fantastic Secondary School projects, stopping to chat to Tánaiste Simon Harris along the way!
