Mrs. Doyle and Mrs. Kerr brought 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class to Castletown estate on 12th June. They spotted lots of trees (oak, ash, horse chestnut, holly, lime, hawthorn and sycamore) and wild flowers (buttercups, forget-me-nots, clover, ribwort, robin- run-the-hedge). They had a lovely walk along the new path down by the river. Along the way they passed Mrs. Siddon’s Temple and the ice house. They had a picnic at the bathing house and then continued their walk down to Batty Langley’s house, where they looked at the Gothic architecture on the façade. After that they continued along the path towards the main house where they passed the big meadow to the left and a field of corn on the right. They then finished their lunch on the steps of Castletown House. They had a lovely day out.
