On 28th June, we said goodbye to our sixth class. But we did make them work for it! They performed the story of Daniel, accompanied by the rest of the school singing many rousing songs! Whilst many found it a very emotional time, we are certain they are ready for the next big step in September, where they will all prove themselves to be fine examples of all that is good in life!
Goodbye Sixth class!

Hilary Collins used her intelligence to apply to Intel for a grant to help develop the new piece of land at the end of the playground. Whilst the application wasn’t successful, Intel did present the school with a new tablet! Mrs Downey and Hillary were there to accept it on behalf of the school.
Many thanks to all involved!

On Tuesday 21st June after school, sixth class, accompanied by parents and Mrs Downey went on a trip to GoQuest, at the invitation of the PTA. To those of us old enough to remember, this is The Crystal Maze of old! By all accounts, they had a brilliant, if challenging time there, with pizza to round off the day!
Sixth class want to publicly thank the PTA for this treat and we take this opportunity to thank them for all the work over the year on all our behalves!

On Thursday 16th, sixth class travelled to Blessington to Avon Rí. By ten o’clock they were practicing archery before the Gotox and Raccoon teams (don’t ask!) challenged each other. They then moved onto team challenges and puzzles. From there they were onto a low ropes assault course. Time for lunch and then onto the zip line before changing into wetsuits to go kayaking!
Absolutely no fun was had by anyone!
No-one got wet!
There was no sliding on the underside of kayaks into the water!
There were no relay games after making themselves dizzy!
And finally, on the way home, nobody ordered loads of food in McDonalds!

The children did a great job tidying, weeding, planting and watering their plants this term. They grew nasturtiums, radishes, basil and cucumber.
