Raising the Flag!

At midday, we all assembled at the front of the school, ready to raise our flag along with all other schools. Rev Stephen was on hand to conduct a brief service of prayers and readings.
Yet again, we were treated to various performances. We had the original Proclamation read by sixth class pupils. Each class read some of their own 2016 proclamations, surprisingly mature in their observations and aspirations.
Second and third class sang Ag Smaoinigh Os Ard, putting Ed in second place.
Fourth and fifth class put Kodaline to shame.
Fifth and sixth gave an emotional version of ‘Grace’ and a not so emotional Amhrán na gCupán!
Just as the flag was being raised, would you believe we had a fly past of the national flag!
After raising the flag, we all joined together to sing Amhrán na bhFiann and Ireland’s Call wholeheartedly.
All pupils were presented with €2 commemorative coins by the PTA.
The PTA then fed and watered us all.
Quite a memorable day I think you will agree!
