As part of Science Week, First and Second Class took part in some interesting experiments. We saw how washing up liquid breaks surface tension and moved our ‘Soap Powered Boat’! It also moved pepper across the surface of water. We made a paper-clip ‘float’ on water, an egg float in salty water and made a beautiful swirly design when washing up liquid was added to milk and food colouring. We also learnt that a fire needs fuel, heat and oxygen to burn and demonstrated this by removing the oxygen and watching a candle go out.
